RandomPokemons.com is a free random Pokémon generator that covers all 1,025 Pokémon from Generation 1 through Generation 9, plus Mega Evolutions, Gigantamax and regional forms. It is built and maintained by one person, and this page explains who, why, and where the data comes from.
Who builds this
Where the data comes from
Every name, type, ability, base stat and Pokédex number on this site comes from PokéAPI, the open-source Pokémon database, cross-checked against the official Pokédex. The artwork shown in results is the official artwork for each species. Accuracy matters here: one wrong type pairing and the tool stops being useful, so every data update goes through a scripted build that validates the full set before it ships.
The generator itself runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you roll is uploaded anywhere, and the randomness comes from your browser's cryptographic random source, so every eligible Pokémon truly has an equal chance.
Why this exists
There are other random pickers out there, and some of them are good. This one exists because I wanted three things in a single tool: filters deep enough for real challenge runs (rarity tiers, evolution stages, forms), authentic shiny odds instead of a gimmick toggle, and a page that loads instantly on a phone in a group chat argument. That last one is the true origin story.
Changelog
- July 2026: Site launched. Full National Pokédex coverage through #1025 Pecharunt, including The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk DLC Pokémon. 184 Mega, Gigantamax and regional forms included. Shiny modes with authentic 1 in 4096 odds and a persistent shiny collection.
- Planned: Browt, Pombon and Gecqua (the Pokémon Winds and Waves starters revealed on Pokémon Day 2026) will be added as soon as complete official Pokédex data is published.
