About the Alola region

Alola is the seventh region and the holiday one, a chain of four tropical islands based on Hawaii. It ditched the classic eight-Gym formula entirely and replaced it with the island challenge: a series of trials, Totem Pokémon and Kahuna grand trials across Melemele, Akala, Ula'ula and Poni islands.

Generation 7 introduced regional forms for the very first time, the Alolan forms that reimagined Kanto classics like Alolan Raichu, Ninetales, Exeggutor and Marowak. It also added Z-Moves and the interdimensional Ultra Beasts. This generator rolls only the 88 Gen 7 species, which includes those Alolan-introduced Pokémon plus the mythicals Meltan and Melmetal.

Alola starters and iconic Pokémon

The Alola starters are Rowlet (Grass and Flying), Litten (Fire) and Popplio (Water). Litten into Incineroar is the fan and competitive favourite, a heel wrestler that dominates doubles with Intimidate and Fake Out. Popplio into Primarina is a gorgeous Water and Fairy singer, and Rowlet into Decidueye is the Grass and Ghost hood archer.

Alola's roster leans creative: Mimikyu the breakout mascot, Lycanroc with its day, night and dusk forms, Toucannon, Salazzle, Kommo-o, Toxapex the tankiest wall around, and all the Alolan regional forms. Roll six for a team with real personality.

Alola legendary Pokémon

Alola is legendary-heavy: the Guardian Deities Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu and Tapu Fini; the Cosmog line into Solgaleo (Psychic/Steel) and Lunala (Psychic/Ghost); the prism Pokémon Necrozma; and a whole squad of Ultra Beasts like Nihilego, Buzzwole, Kartana and Celesteela. Magearna, Marshadow and Zeraora are the mythicals.

Because Alola has so many legendaries and Ultra Beasts, the default pool of 61 regular Pokémon is smaller than the 88 total. Flip on Legendaries to add the Tapus, the box legends, Necrozma and every Ultra Beast, or set a shiny mode in Advanced filters.

How to use the Alola Pokémon generator

The pool is already locked to the 88 Alola Pokémon, so you can dive straight in:

  1. Pick a quantity. One for a single pick, or six for a full Alola team (the default).
  2. Filter if you want. Choose a single type, or turn on Legendaries and Fully Evolved. Advanced filters add evolution stage, shiny odds, special forms and a unique-types spread.
  3. Press Generate. Your Alola Pokémon appear with artwork, types, stats and abilities. Re-roll any single slot you want to swap.
  4. Share or save. "Share team" copies a link that reopens with the exact same team, and any shiny you roll saves to your collection.
